Lyell Amora

As the Director of the CAPS Information Technology Group (ITG), Lyell serves as a functional leader, as well as a technical expert, for planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of  all all high level systems within the division’s Network Infrastructure including, but not limited to Storage systems, remote access, Active Directory Group Policy Management, and Disaster Recovery Processes and Procedures.

Lyell also manages all aspects of day-to-day IT operations for the Division and provides direct supervision and professional development to the Systems and Application Engineers and other staff assigned to collaborate with the ITG on multiple projects affecting several departments, including Facilities, Accounting, and the AIDS Education Training Center (AETC); fosters productive reporting, peer communications and other working relationships between faculty and project staff; evaluates and recommends IT solutions and innovations as requested; collaborates with the Division Administrator and Finance Director to assess the financial feasiblity, as well as the technical feasiblity of proposed new systems and/or changes to existing systems; and assures efficient, timely, and user-friendly senior-level helpdesk support to the entire Division.
