New HIV term proposed: “sero-discovering” (couples who discover HIV serodiscordance during relationship)

Research on HIV-serodiscordant couples often treats them as inherently similar. However, this paper describes the terms ‘sero-cognizant’ (learning of their serodiscordance as they first got together) and ‘sero-discovering’ (discovering it in the midst of their relationship), and considers how the HIV-related health needs of these groups might be met.
